This restaurant near where I work offers a 34oz pint of beer for $8. It’s called the “man mug”. May I suggest NOT getting one of those on your lunch break?
I mean, sure, working buzzed is funny but the hangover hit halfway through the night and that was not fun.

I’m making myself the subject of a social experiment in the upcoming weeks. Will report back with results, if there are results.
And then I guess I’ll explain the experiment then, too.
Also, so many great things I can’t talk about but I’m dying to share. Soon!

Lunch with long lost friend. Photo walks, pancakes, book shopping. End the night with a New Orleans jazz band chaser at Lee’s. Today’s gonna be a good one.
Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us...

Work Conversations
“If you could clock any person that we work with, one knock out, they can’t get you back, beauty of a punch, who would it be?”
“You, actually.”

Galactic is a band from New Orleans i never got to see when I was living there. Now I’m seeing them for free in Toronto tomorrow. Slightly less awesome than a hometown show, but still cool.

Its a good day when you get to hang out with the friends you don’t ever see. It’s better when you toss in some nachos and beer. But then add a free show by your favourite band and record shopping and board game cafes?
Happy Monday.

On Lucille two
“She changed him as a baby!” “Okay that’s about the creepiest thing I’ve ever heard.” “…that’s why she didn’t look surprised.”

I love it
Guys that I work with talking me through having dealt with nothing but assholes for the past 3 years. Every date, every person I’ve been interested in. To that: “Trust me. It’s not anything about you or anything you do. Some people are just jerks.”
These boys are the sweetest.

On Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
“What is this?”
“Have you never seen the movie before?!”
“Well yeah, but I’ve never seen the book.”
Silence
“I mean a physical copy of the book.”

“Let’s give it up. Let’s just lay around and make love and take walks and talk a little. Let’s go to the zoo. Let’s look at animals. Let’s drive down and look at the ocean. It’s only 45 minutes. Let’s play games in arcades. Let’s go to the races, the art museum, the boxing matches. Let’s have friends. Let’s laugh. This kind of...

I’ve always believed in punk being more of an attitude, and less of a fashion statement. I appreciate the effort (thats directed at you, two-toned hair, sleeveless jacket guy) but it’s a lot more admirable to adhere to no rules than conform to the punk uniform. That’s isn’t really what’s it’s about, hey?

So I'm at this punk show right now
Some band thats been around since the late 70’s. I feel like maybe I’m the youngest person in the venue. I feel like maybe I’m also the only one wearing earplugs (uncool) but I might have enough facial piercings (2) to redeem myself. But probably not.

You’ve all seen this before. I shot this last summer, my very talented friend Adam edited it. I post it to remind myself that I’ve been talking about doing another vid similar to this for about 11 months now. Time to get on that.

Sorry for all the fog photos
It was such a beautiful scene in Toronto last night. I was walking around after shooting the Amp and the fog was rolling in. It’s been such a long time since I’ve shot something not band related.

He had devoted the last six months to memorizing the first 50,000 digits of the mathematical constant pi, which he planned to recite at the Mind Sports Olympiad, a weeklong festival of board games to be held a week after the World Memory Championship. It would have been a new world record. But an obscure mnemonist named Akira Haraguchi had emerged from nowhere to memorize 83,431 digits just a...

Nights like tonight make me so glad I work in...
I saw how much money I was owed at the end of the night and nearly had a heart attack. I think I might just go buy myself a new lens tomorrow.
