2012 Reading List

I was looking back on stats for this video today. It still gets about 10-20 hits a day from people everywhere in the world. Canada and the States, obviously, but Germany (more than the States!), Slovenia and even Kenya.

Insanity. It’s kind of amazing how one little video you shot of an impromptu performance on the streets of Toronto can end up being watched around the world.

The Darcys, North Street Church Halifax
The Darcys new album is still spectacular and still free to download over here. Get at it. Their release show is November 18th at the Horseshoe Tavern and you’d be a fool not to attend.

Reading Ford’s proposed budget cuts makes me want to run my head into a wall repeatedly.

I mean, who thinks ANY of these things are a good idea?

I’m not saying it’s going to happen

I’m simply making an observation that the Horseshoe is having a night called “Ex-Constantines” in which all the bands that now exist as a result of the Cons breaking up will be playing together. On the same stage. On the same night.

I am going to keep my fingers crossed and hope with every ounce of my being that there is some kind of impromptu Cons set. A song. A mention of the band. A late April Fools gag in which they reveal they aren’t actually broken up.

My favourite fuckin’ band. Ugh.
